Research Outputs
Our research generates new knowledge about the mental health experiences and challenges of non-Chinese youth in Hong Kong. Below are recent academic outputs produced by our team:
Working Paper 1
Life as an ethnic minority university student: Mental health challenges that international and local non-Chinese students face in Hong Kong
This study draws on in-depth interviews and participant observations with non-Chinese university students, including both international and local EM students, to explore their experiences with poor mental health and related challenges in Hong Kong. We used self-determination theory (SDT) as a theoretical lens through which to understand the obstacles that hinder students from fulfilling their psychological needs for competence, relatedness, and autonomy in university campus life.
Working Paper 2
Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence for mental health among Non-Chinese youth in Hong Kong: a mixed-methods study

Working Paper 3
